  • Mr. Tan Yong-Wah is the head of IT/Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the de facto central bank of Hong Kong.
  • Dr. Tan Kee Wee is an economist who is currently working on a project with the Singapore University of Social Sciences to deliver the world's first professional Fintech qualification programme.
  • Mr. Patrick Wu is the head of Linear FX and Emerging Markets Trading Asia for Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.
  • The moderator, Mr Vic Tham, is the Global Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for Samtrade FX.     Vic Tham is the Global Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for Samtrade FX. He has been in the securities industry for 16 years and the banking industry for more than 15 years. During his career, he had held senior roles like the Chief Risk Officer of the Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited; Chief Operating Officer, Asia for Global Transaction Services, Bank of America Merrill Lynch (HK); and also as the Managing Director, Operational Risk- North Asia, Standard Chartered Bank (HK). Vic is currently also the Advisory Board Member of the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science, Hong Kong University for their BSc. (Statistics - Risk Management programme).

    Vic specializes in risk management, compliance and fintech/AI/Blockchain. He is a sought after consultant, thought leader and popular speaker who in his career, had spoken at over 250+ conferences in these areas of specialization.

    Vic holds an MBA in Finance & Accounting, and a BSc. (Finance) from the State University of New York, Buffalo, New York, USA.

    Dr. TAN Kee Wee runs his own economics advisory firm. Prior to that, he spent many years in the investment industry as an economist in various financial institutions.

    Dr. Tan started off his career in 1988 as a journalist with the Singapore daily newspaper Business Times. That was after he secured his PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia in Britain.

    Dr. Tan continues to teach undergraduates economics on a part-time basis. He is currently working on a project with the Singapore University of Social Sciences to deliver the world’s first professional Fintech qualification programme.

    Head of IT/Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Hong Kong Monetary Authority

    Yong-wah TAN is the head of IT/Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the de facto central bank in Hong Kong.

    Yong-wah has been with the HKMA for more than 25 years, first joined in 1995 as the technical advisor for the implementation of the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, and later was appointed to the post of head of IT/CIO in 1999.

    Yong-wah started his career in Singapore, working one year in the DBS bank, then joined Banking Computer Services (BCS) for 4 years and BCS Information Systems (BCSIS), a subsidiary company of BCS for 8 years before moving to Hong Kong. Both BCS/BCSIS are the payment system operator on behalf of Singapore banking community and system integrator of such payment systems in the region.

    Head of Linear FX and Emerging Markets Trading Asia at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank

    Patrick Wu is now head of Linear FX and Emerging Markets Trading Asia for Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, base in Hong Kong. Patrick helps to manage the FX, bond and rate derivatives across the Asian countries for the bank, with a strong focus on bridging the China financial markets with the regional and global financial markets.

    Before joining CACIB, Patrick was the North Asia trading head for Australia and New Zealand Banking group. He was also the head of Trading for JP Morgan in China and head of credit Trading for the Standard Chartered Bank in North East Asia. Patrick is the pioneer in the offshore CIBM and CNH businesses.

    He started to trade offshore RMB bond back in 2008 and he completed the first Dim Sum bond deal and first CNH derivatives in the offshore market. He’s a committee member for both the HKMA-TMA market development committee and market practice committee.
